Kudos to CDG client Firefly Farms, which got a sizeable mention in the May 13 edition of The Express, a free daily circular published by The Washington Post. A feature article about cheesemaking , “The Secret Life of Cheese” (pg 35) leads with an interview with Firefly President Mike Koch, and gives a brief overview of how Koch and his partner Pablo Solanet launched a successful artisan dairy farm in Maryland’s Allegheny Plateau.
The article itself is a nice read, but what makes it a particularly delicious publicity coup is its placement in The Express. The publication is distributed every morning at every Metrorail station. On a typical weekday, more than 700,000 people ride the Metro—talk about a captive audience! The article includes the requisite URL to the (CDG-designed) site, which in turn has a listing of places to buy the cheese. Even casual readers are likely to remember Firefly Farms’ whimsical name the next time they’re shopping in Whole Foods or strolling through Dupont Circle’s Sunday-morning farmers market.
So congratulations Mike, Pablo, and everyone at Firefly Farms! (No need to thank us for the shout-out. Just send us more of that Moutain Top Bleu. Mmmmmmmm.)
