A big congratulations to CDG’s friends at the American Foundation for the Blind (AFB) and the National Association for Parents of Children with Visual Impairments (NAPVI). FamilyConnect, an AFB/NAPVI-produced website for parents of visually impaired children, was named a "2008 Outstanding Product" in the iParenting Media Awards.
Singled out for its helpful, comprehensive content, the site was lauded as a first-rate resource for parents who are raising a child with visual impairment.
CDG is proud to have been a partner in bringing this site to fruition. Directing the creative strategy for the project, our contributions included:
- Conducting preliminary focus groups and analysis
- Developing the information architecture and site taxonomy
- Developing a creative definition and aesthetic concept for the site
- Conducting user testing sessions on a site prototype
- Creating a cohesive, comprehensive, and accessible design for the site
We’re thrilled that iParenting has brought added visibility and prominence to FamilyConnect. It’s a well-deserved honor for AFB and NAPVI—and will hopefully make even more parents aware of a unique and valuable online resource.
